I have SUCKED at blogging lately. We went on vacation and then I haven’t had motivation to blog since returning. We go back to school in a little over a week, so I’m going to have to plan when I can find time to blog. I love doing it but it takes me so long to make a single post.
This post is dedicated to a handful of books that I’ve read in the past month; it’s not all of them, but the ones I finished in the last two weeks or so!
The Prison Healer
This was such a great YA fantasy read! I loved the characters and the plot a lot. Noni threw in plot twists and curve balls in the last 20% or so of the book and I am SO excited for book two! I listened to this via audible, but wish I had read it instead.
In a Dark, Dark Wood
I read this while floating in my pool and was intrigued by the story. I found it dragged out a bit and wasn’t nearly as scary as some of the reviews said. I liked the mystery and thrill of the book, but wish that it had more oomph to it and less unnecessary details. I also find that I may not be a huge Ruth Ware fan and that may impact my perception of the story. I don’t 100% love her writing, but it’s good enough to get my attention. I’ll give her another try, but take these thoughts with a grain of salt! (Nothing against the author, just my own personal preference).
I have been on a bully trope and a mafia romance kick and I am not proud of it. I haven’t wanted to read anything else and it’s driving me crazy…BUT I love how authors write Mafia men and I can’t get enough.
I’m in the process of picking out book 100 of the year, but I want to pick a good one. I have so many books on my TBR that I don’t even know where to start. Hopefully by this weekend I’ll have that figured out and will have reached 100 reads!
Until next time, whenever that may be!
